Up in the air He threw me so high Just enough, for my little hands to touch the sky Down he knew I would always fall As wise as his words He was oh so tall Forever we were bound With knots of laughter It never ended For there was always an after In his lap I sat everyday Singing rhymes, wondering Where Mary and her little lamb would take us today I looked deep Into his beady brown eyes Saw a glimpse, every memory As bright as each sunrise He asked me to never grow up To stay the same I whispered in his ear "We will always play our little game" But time ran past Never stood still He never changed From then to till All was buried

A vast wonderland What used to be a sight But what remains now Is a question to be answered The warmth of the sun had always shined Through the storming clouds And now only the moon sheds its light Through the cracks When the new moon rises The darkness is at its peak But we must remember all the times Where life had sprung from the ground In this warm hearth we shall reminisce What we cherished our love for and our dreams And remember that nothing is lost Because we have the picture of our lives And now if you have the chance Look out the window And see that the river still flows

I turn back just once A bloody scene All in black and white The ringing of rifles The deafening of explosions One clutching another All in fear And the promises made to stay together We are here for each other Are we not Our faces seem blank But behind shadows is just rage and fear I stand still Motionless Not a thought upon my face For there is nothing I would need to ponder There is nothing left for me to care I fall My knees are to week There is only one thing that is strong within me It has always been there And now I fear that is what will be my loss I force myself to rise I stand again And this time with pride
